The team that spends time together stays together!

When parents go home from their jobs, what do they tell their kids? My job sucks, or... just as bad, they don't say anything, they are just tired, always tired. Happy about the job, not happy, it depends on the immediate supervisor.... the immediate supervisors effectiveness depends on his team leader, and so on! People don't leave companies, they leave their immediate supervisor!

I once accepted a position as a service manager for a new car dealer representing three car lines during a major shortage of technicians.... the dealer was at the bottom of customer service rankings in the nation.... within one year we were top ten percent in the nation. Top Technicians moving to charleston, SC looked up the best place to work for.... they started showing up at my door. We became gravitational. For the entry level techs, we developed an apprenticeship program that turned car wash boys into technicians, car wash boy to service manager, car wash boy to general manager. It didn't cost anything! Commitment to excellence and living it daily is contagious!

We also hired 60 year old individuals who gave us 10+years of excellent performance. In my current business I hired a 76 year old lady who retired at 85 last year... she added 1 million in sales to our business.

As a company you create a world, you want it to be gravitational!  Your small team leaders will define your reputation in this marketplace and around the globe.

To retain and attract talent you must become a gravitational employer... one that holds close and keeps positively challenged its current employees which in turn spread the message abou you as the best place to work.

This is done by training gravitational team leaders... people don't quit jobs, they quit their immediate supervisor. Can you state with 100% certainty that you ou have trained all your supervisors from top management to small unit leaders as gravitational leaders? That's your only chance! Do you currently have aan active personal development file for each employee periodically reviewed with a trained supervisor?

A gravitational employer develops a growth plan for each employee and reviews such plan at predetermined intervals. The team leader eats lunch with her group often in small units, gets to know the team members, and is therefore in tune with the emotional needs of each individual. He is in tune with potential threats from outside of work.

A gravitational leader has knowledge of DISC or other personality types and is therefore not judgemental of individuals, instead she guides each individual according to what works best for his personality type.

A gravitational trainer/ coach does not just show then where to go and how to do something, he'll walk with the team member until the apprentice is confident on his own.

A gravitational employer is clear on its UGEP - Unique Gravitational Employer Proposition and lives it daily! Beware, even if you have a great UGEP, but your small unit leaders aren't living it, it won't work, they must live it daily!

You want to attract and keep the best talent? Implement gravitational employment practices, equip your small unit leaders as gravitational leaders and your employees won't be buying a ticket on the next SpaceX to Mars! Great units attract great team members, the best want to work with the best. They'll also work with less than the best if they are committed to professional growth.

As a gravitational employer you'll have gravitational employees who will attract new great talent to your company!

As a company you create a world, is your world gravitational?
